Peter Bird

Peter Bird is an urban planner and mobility researcher originally from the United States, now a PhD candidate at the Eindhoven University of Technology. Peter graduated in 2016 with a Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree from the University of Colorado Denver. He then worked as the Bicycle and Pedestrian Planner for the city of Nashville, USA before being selected for the Robert Bosch Foundation Transatlantic Fellowship program in 2020 and moving to Berlin, Germany. Coming from urban and mobility planning practice, Peter is particularly interested in how those professions can evolve to better elevate cycling and shift away from car-centric policies. He joined the TOD-IS-RUR research group in January 2024.
